Frequently Asked Questions
How do I delete my account?
Open Vault & Value → Profile → Delete Account → confirm by re-typing your email. Deletion removes every saved item, photo, invoice, price alert, and shared invitation from our servers, signs you out, and revokes the Sign in with Apple link. The action cannot be undone.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name at the top → Subscriptions → Vault & Value Plus → Cancel Subscription. Your Plus features stay active until the end of the current billing period. You can also reach this from Profile → Manage Subscription inside the app.
What happens to my collection if I cancel Plus?
You keep Plus features until the end of the billing period you've paid for. After that, content beyond the Free tier's caps (more than 5 items, more than 1 photo per item, more than 1 invoice per item, more than 1 alert per bucket) is trimmed automatically — oldest-edited first, and the original thumbnail is preserved on every item. Re-subscribing within 30 days restores everything from a soft-delete grace period. After 30 days the trimmed content is permanently deleted.
I can't sign in with Apple.
First, restart the app. If that doesn't help, sign out of the App Store on your device (Settings → top of screen → Media & Purchases → Sign Out), wait 30 seconds, sign back in, then try again. Sign in with Apple sometimes requires a fresh App Store session after the device's keychain has been edited. If you still can't sign in, email us with the iOS version and the error message.
The price for my saved item didn't update today.
Daily prices refresh once every 24 hours via a server-side job. If you see a "Stale" pill next to the timestamp, our refresh missed a cycle — usually clears within a few hours. If the pill stays for more than two days, email us; we may have a backend issue we don't yet know about.
I shared my vault but the recipient never received an invitation email.
The invitation email is sent from invites@vaultandvalue.app. Ask the recipient to check their spam / promotions folder. If it's not there either, ask the recipient to add invites@vaultandvalue.app to their contacts and try the share again. If multiple recipients aren't getting emails, please report it — we treat this as a high-priority bug.
I uploaded a photo but it's not appearing on my other device.
Photos sync to the cloud after the local save completes. If you see a "Couldn't sync" banner at the top of the app right after saving, the upload failed — usually a network issue. Try the save again on a stronger connection. If the banner appears repeatedly, email us with what you were doing when it happened.
How accurate are the valuations?
Vault & Value uses live precious-metal prices and your stated weights / making charges to compute a fair-value range. The range is informational, not a professional appraisal. For high-value pieces, especially those with diamonds, pearls, coloured stones, or branded watches, an in-person appraisal from a certified expert is always recommended for insurance, resale, or estate purposes.
Is my data sold or shared with anyone?
No. Your saved items, photos, and prices are yours. We never sell individual purchase records to third parties. See our Privacy Policy for the full list of what we collect and why.
