Terms of Service

By using Vault & Value, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App. Capitalized terms have the meaning given below.

1. The service

Vault & Value (the App, we, us) is an iOS app that helps you estimate fair prices for jewelry, watches, and bullion, save items into a personal collection, and track value over time. The App is operated by Mansoor Al Buhmaid.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). By using the App you confirm you are old enough.

3. Account

You sign in via Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.

You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is irreversible.

4. Estimates are informational

Vault & Value's price estimates are NOT professional appraisals. They are informational, based on public material prices and our internal models, and are intended only as a starting point for your own research.

For any decision involving real money — insurance, resale, donation, divorce, estate, or purchase — you should consult a certified gemologist or appraiser. We are not liable for any loss caused by relying on an in-app estimate as if it were a professional valuation.

5. Subscription — Vault & Value Plus

The App offers a paid subscription called Vault & Value Plus with the following tiers:

• Monthly: $4.99 USD per month, charged through your Apple ID.
• Annual: $49.99 USD per year, charged through your Apple ID.

Plus benefits

• Ad-free experience
• Unlimited saved items in My Collection and My Wishlist
• Up to 9 photos per item and 9 invoice photos per item
• Historical valuation
• (when introduced) One discounted Standard Appraisal per monthly billing cycle

How billing works

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews for the same period at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. You can also turn off auto-renewal there.
• Cancelling stops future billing. You retain access to Plus features until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

Family Sharing

Vault & Value Plus is available through Apple Family Sharing. One subscription can be shared with up to six family members.

Plus appraisal discount

(When the appraiser marketplace launches) Vault & Value Plus members receive one discounted appraisal per monthly billing cycle, applicable to eligible Standard Appraisal packages. The discount is not a free appraisal. It expires at the end of each billing month and cannot be carried over, refunded, exchanged, or transferred. Annual subscribers receive one discount per monthly billing cycle during the active subscription period — not 12 discounts upfront.

Free tier limits

Free users may save up to 5 items combined across My Collection and My Wishlist, with one item photo and one invoice photo per item. Items saved while subscribed remain visible if you later cancel; you simply cannot add new items beyond the free limit.

6. Appraiser marketplace (when introduced)

The App may offer the ability to request an appraisal from a third-party human appraiser. These services are performed off-app by certified appraisers. Vault & Value facilitates the request and payment but is not the appraiser. We are not responsible for the appraiser's conclusions or conduct. Disputes over appraisal quality are between you and the appraiser.

Appraisal payments are processed through [external provider TBD — Stripe, etc.] and are NOT in-app purchases under Apple's Guideline 3.1.3(e) ("real-world physical services").

7. Sharing

You may invite others to view your collection or individual items. By doing so, you grant the recipient read-only or read-and-edit access (your choice) to the data you share. You may revoke shares at any time. Recipients are bound by these Terms.

8. Content you upload

You retain ownership of photos and notes you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features.

You agree NOT to upload:

• Content you do not have the right to use
• Content that infringes others' rights
• Illegal content of any kind
• Anything that could harm minors

We may remove content that violates these rules and, in serious cases, suspend or terminate your account.

9. Prohibited uses

Do not:

• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code from the App.
• Use the App to commit fraud, money laundering, or other illegal activity.
• Attempt to bypass the free-tier limits.
• Use automated tools to scrape pricing data from the App.
• Resell or sublicense access to the App.

10. Intellectual property

The App, the Vault & Value name, logo, and content are owned by us or our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right in our intellectual property except the limited right to use the App per these Terms.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Material prices change continuously. We make reasonable efforts to keep pricing data accurate but cannot guarantee its accuracy at any moment.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the App is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or losses caused by relying on price estimates.

13. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we reasonably believe to be harmful to other users, the App, or us. On termination, your right to use the App ends. Sections 4, 11, 12, 14, and 15 survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

If you reside in a jurisdiction whose law gives you mandatory rights that cannot be waived (e.g. EU consumer rights), those rights apply regardless.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
